About Us

Mission Statement
Broken Doll Production seeks to serve young people from traditionally economically disadvantaged and underserved neighborhoods of color by providing the opportunity to participate in a complete theatrical production program. The program aims to foster a sense of social justice and action within participants, provide youth with post-high school college and career opportunities to which they currently do not have access, encourage youth to build community among peers, other youth, and within their own neighborhoods, and to motivate youth towards personal and academic success through participation in a goal-oriented theatrical production program. Youth in the program will understand that success, hard, yet rewarding work, and community does not have to end merely because the school year ends.

This youth-centered theater program will provide young people with a sense of ownership over their work within the theater, will assist in development of social and life skills, and will allow youth the ability to participate in a safe, educational and creative program during the summer months.
